Why would he want to life his eyes for? He knows what his face looks like. … as for what he is looking at, I don’t think he’s really seen one in person and this close and anywhere near this situation.
I wish I could say that was intentional, but honestly I just figured I could get away with not drawing the buttons. In hindsight, that was a bad idea! He’s supposed to be wearing a button up with snaps though.
Yeeeeah, that was me trying to take the “less is more” route and figuring I didn’t need to draw them. Bad move though, since it kinda just made this part confusing!
I wish I could say I intentionally made it look like Daniel was sucking it in, but I think I just didn’t fully develop his design, so I didn’t give much thought to how skinny he actually was when I was drawing him with clothes! He’s supposed to be kind of a beanpole, but with suspiciously toned arms. And I almost drew buttons flying off! Instead, my official explanation is that he’s wearing a button up shirt with snaps. I probably should have added some “snap” sounds though…
